Taco Stand Night 1 walkthrough
Not Midnight Taco. This is a walkthrough for the first-person psychological horror demo by Wave Infinite on itch.io. You run a small taco stand on a late shift. The browser build on this site is that demo, Night 1 only. It is not a Roblox job simulator, not a restaurant tycoon, and not a game by CaseOh.
What the itch.io page says
Taco Stand is a psychological horror game where you run a small stand late at night. The loop on the itch page is short: take orders, serve tacos, and get through the shift. Customers arrive with different orders and attitudes. Some are impatient or rude. Your job is to take the request, serve it, and keep the line moving.
Food prep, in the developer’s words: add sauce to the tortilla, grill it, then fold it so the taco is correct.
The same page says that as each night passes you start to see and hear things, and it gets stranger. The question the game asks is whether that is in your head. That is the full-game description. The file you can play today is still marked demo, Night 1 only, about 5–10 minutes, status in development. Later nights are not in this build.
The browser demo is free to start. Windows, Mac, and Linux files on itch are pay-what-you-want. The developer recommends the download for the smoothest performance. This site does not rehost those files.
Sound design is credited to Josh Bakaimis. The project is made with Unity, tagged first-person. The itch page says no generative AI was used. Play with the sound on. The scare in Night 1 is atmospheric, not a list of secret audio puzzles. Headphones help you notice the shift. They do not unlock a published code.
Controls
- WASD — move
- Mouse — look around
- E — interact
There is no weapon and no combat tutorial. The job is the stand.
How a taco is made in Night 1
Learn the prep order before the line stacks up. It is the whole cooking system in the public demo:
- Read the order. Rushing is how people miss the figure at the end of the stand.
- Add sauce to the tortilla. In Night 1, a meat order uses the middle sauce.
- Grill it.
- Fold it so the taco matches the request, then get back to the line.
There is no published recipe card, no chopping minigame, and no confirmed “wasted ingredient” meter. Players who wanted layers and a prep station are describing a fuller game than Night 1. Impatient or rude customers are part of the shift the developer describes. Keep the queue moving by matching the order, not by treating the stand like a tycoon.
Night 1 walkthrough, as far as the demo actually goes
Playthroughs of this itch build, including Fort Kenmei’s Good Games 356, describe the same short shift:
- You start in a parking lot at night, next to a lit convenience store, and walk up to the stand.
- The boss is already there, dances, and sends you to work because customers are coming.
- People order. One clearly documented order is a meat taco (“smells really good”).
- A figure can appear at the end of the stand and then be gone.
- The demo ends on a scare involving the boss.
Do not expect a map, a key-item checklist, or named endings. The itch page does not document a manual save or a branching ending chart. The demo is one short shift. If you close the tab, you start Night 1 again. That is the whole “checkpoint.”
If you saw no scare
That happens. Wave Infinite replied to a player who missed the entity: it appears at a certain spot, and you have to notice it. Look along the stand instead of staring only at the grill. The dancing boss is the other landmark people remember — several players say the boss is more startling than the figure.
What is not publicly confirmed
The itch page does not publish any of the following, so this walkthrough does not invent them:
- A full ending list, secret endings, or branch requirements
- What happens on Night 2 or later, beyond the developer’s line that each night gets stranger
- A manual save, a recipe book, or an ingredient-waste penalty
- Audio cues that solve a puzzle
Night 1 ends on a short scare. That is what playthroughs of this build show. A video that promises several endings for the demo is not describing the public itch version. Replay the same shift if you missed the figure. There is nothing else to chart.
What this demo is not
- Not Midnight Taco. Different game. A comment on the itch page accused the project of reusing assets from that title. Wave Infinite’s public reply says the assets are CC0, so other people can use them, and that this is their first commercial game. Shared free assets are not the same game. Use the itch page and Steam app 4307580 if you need to check you have the Wave Infinite demo.
- Not a CaseOh game. Some customers in the demo are a cameo players joke about. The joke does not change the developer, the itch URL, or the Steam app.
- Not a tycoon. Wrong orders, upgrades, and a shop you grow are not the Night 1 loop. The horror is the shift, not a business you optimize.
Steam is coming soon
Steam app 4307580 is the developer’s page. Steam still says the game is not yet available. Wishlist it if you want the full version. Do not pay a third-party key seller for a game that is not on sale. The developer has also said they are working on an updated Steam demo. Until that ships, the thing you can play is the itch Night 1 build.
Playing it on this site
The frame at the top of the homepage loads Wave Infinite’s HTML5 build from itch’s CDN:
https://html-classic.itch.zone/html/16140845/Taco%20Stand%20Web%20Build/index.html
The card under the frame is the official itch widget (itch.io/embed/4155672), so the project stays attributed to Wave Infinite. If the frame is blank after the author re-uploads, the CDN path can change. Use the itch page rather than a random reupload.
Browser fullscreen is the button on the frame. Click the stand to capture the mouse, and press Esc if look-control feels stuck. A phone can load the page; a keyboard and mouse match the WASD controls the demo was built for.
Creators
Wave Infinite’s itch page says you may make videos and streams, and that monetization is allowed. If you publish one, they ask you to share it in the itch comments. The videos on this site are embeds of other people’s uploads, not re-uploads.
